Surgery Equipment for OR

The Portable Digital Radiology unit and Electronic Operating Table for the Operating Room and X-Ray are very important pieces of equipment for updating the Listowel Hospital and increasing the capabilities and efficiency of patient care in different ways. This equipment has been identified as the next fundraising target for the hospital.

The Digitial Portable Radiology Unit would enable X-Ray images to be taken anywhere in the Hospital and seen right away or quickly entered into the computer system to be viewed at any terminal. This would mean being able to diagnose conditions faster and thus start treatment earlier.

An Electric Operating Table can be considered essential to a modern functioning Operating Room. With many of the operations it is important to change the position of the patients. Electric Tables can be moved easily with a push button controllers with smoother motions in many different directions without interrupting the surgery. These tables also allow X-Rays to be taken intraoperatively with the new Digital Portable Radiology Unit, a feature very important in emergencies.

The Operating Room already had monitor positioning arms built in. These are attached to the ceiling and can be rotated and tilted to achieve the most optimal viewing position for more comfortable and safe surgery. With these monitors the Operating room staff can more easily see the procedure required, X-Ray images and also relevant patient chart notes if necessary. At LMH many laparoscopic operations are performed and with these new Monitors and Table, Listowel may be able to perform more of them.
