Bill and Lynne Gray Support Local Health Care

The Listowel Memorial Hospital has identified the Fisher clinic needing an expansion and renovation to stay current with the area’s growing population and the need to recruit new doctors. The project is proposed to cost just over $8,000,000 and the Hospitals goal is to have all the details complete to break ground in 2023.

”Physician recruitment is dependent on offering space in which new physicians can practice”, says Karl Ellis President and CEO of the Listowel/Wingham Hospital Alliance.

With the expansion and renovation of the Fisher clinic, the William and Lynne Gray Foundation has generously donated $610,000 to outfit all sixteen new examination rooms and ten new offices with every piece of furniture and equipment needed to make them state of the art.

“This very generous donation from the Gray family through their Foundation is appreciated by all Health care professionals and our community”, says John MacDonald, Chairperson of the Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation.

L.H. Gray & Son Limited was established in Ridgetown by Lyle and Ina Gray in 1934. In 1972 the company purchased an egg layer farm and egg grading station in Moorefield. In 1992 the Moorefield egg grading operation was relocated to Tremaine Ave in Listowel. The company now employs 225 people in the greater Listowel area.

L. H. Gray & Son and Gray Ridge Egg Farms, headquartered in Strathroy, is one of the largest producers and processors of eggs and egg products in Canada with operations in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta. The L H Gray group of companies now employs over 1,200 people.

“We consider it a privilege to give back to the community which has been so good to our family over the past fifty years” says Bill Gray, Chief Executive Officer, L H Gray & Son Limited.
